TELL TO SUN TO MOVE THIS SIDE! OR SO WHAT IF YOU ARE “OSCAR”!?

How nation can be precious? Very typical question. And at the same time it is very difficult and heavy issue. Sport and art industry can be exact example for such situations. Because mostly with the help of these fields one can be famous and precious all around the world in a very short period of time.

Now we will step back. Actually, I will return to the topic which I am about to discuss with you. It seems that movie industry is developing in our country. Almost every director of ours wants to be famous all around the world and win awards. But in the world industry there are monopolizing Hollywood with its “Oscar” award and Bollywood industry which is competing to win this award time by time. As for “Oscar” there is no necessity to give any descriptions of it. It is the dream of each actor and directors. They dreamed about it before. And now…

Farakh Khan is one of the well known Indian directors. Her first debuted film was “Main hoon na” (“I am here”) (2004, a serious film about negotiations of India and Pakistan and family relations like brothers, father and child). The topic of relations of India and Pakistan was successful for this director at that time.

The next film of hers brought success not only in India, but it became famous all over the world. It was the film “Om-Shanti-Om” (2008, a dramatic film covered the idea of “If human dreams about something sincerely from the bottom of the heart, the whole galaxy will come to help of achieving it”) which occupied cinemas of the world. The special point of its success were the amazing role of Shakhrukh Khan and participating 31 celebrities of Bollywood. 

And the last (the last one till today) movie is “Tees Maar Khan” (2012, simple comedy covered the incredible nature of the nation of Indians and their sincerity). This work of hers again occupied the world. Now it is seeming Farakh Khan is about to shoot the worldwide films. Because shooting the films in each 4 years is not a joke for a simple choreographer ( there are almost 1000 movies are shooting in a year in India).

Now lets a little about “Tees Maar Khan”. This film seems just simple comedy as if it was taken like idleness. In fact, in one glance it looks like real Indian film. But till the end of the film the real aim of it slowly comes out. During the film the director points out to the film of “A Slumdog Millionaire” with its “Oscar” award and to the one who won it. There were another nominations of Bollywood film industry like “Devdas”, “Mangal Pandey” before this movie. Seeing this it can be understood that Bollywood industry also thirsty to be owner of this award. (But our moviemakers are not interested in winning this award and they don’t try to move ahead, and it is enough for them to be busy with nonsense).

But in “TeesMaarKhan” there can be seen another side of it. They do not pay attention to the “Oscar”. They just make a laugh at it. Non-professional film nominates for the “Oscar” which is taken in the small village of India by uneducated robber. And the main actor of the film who is crazy about to win this award also wins “Oscar” in the nomination of “The best actor” and others like director, all movie participants win this award in different nominations. Finally, this film also wins “Oscar”.

I remembered one scene in the movie. Robber Tees Maar Khan plans to steal the treasure if India. He plans to make a film shoot in the far village of India and ransack the train which is full of treasure. In order to take attention of villagers he starts shooting with the equipments of filmmakers which he robbed. And one phrase in that scene made me laugh. Teesmaarkhan tells to his assistant: “We will start shooting right here, tell to Sun to move this side!”. The assistant starts shouting to side of Sun, then he turns to his “director” and says: “Boss, Sun is not moving”. Teesmaarkhan gets angry and tells: “You stupid man, give it the bribe and it will move with pleasure!”

Making conclusion is your choice. And I return to the question which I arose at the beginning. To the question about national pride. Here you can see the real national pride! Director Farakh Khan wants to tell that they don’t care about any “Oscar” of Hollywood, if others need they can give them any awards of theirs. Actually, I was about to write something about this director. And finally, I found the reason for it…
